The warmest of welcomes to Walney Academy.

It is a privilege to welcome you to our school at such an exciting time! We stand at the gates of a new era here at Walney: new name, new uniform, new logo and a brand-new Technical Centre, home to our UTC Sleeve – the only one of its kind in the country! We are thrilled to be able to show you what we have been working on behind the scenes for over a year, creating new opportunities and experiences that will help our young people thrive both in school and beyond.

The opportunity we have to work in partnership with businesses and leaders in the engineering and healthcare sectors is extremely exciting. It’s true our new facilities are industry standard, replicating real life working environments, allowing our students to learn in spaces that reflect the industries they may one day lead.

But there are some things that never change. We remain staunchly dedicated to our core values: achieve, belong, contribute. These values underpin every aspect of life at Walney Academy. Beyond our exciting new UTC Sleeve, we are proud to offer a broad and balanced curriculum, enrichment opportunities and a caring, supportive environment where every young person is known, valued and encouraged to fulfil their potential.

We know that successes, dreams and ambitions aren’t realised by accident, they are engineered. That is why we have a commitment to ensure that in every classroom, every lesson, every day, we live our core values, putting our students’ at the heart of everything we do.

We can’t wait to be part of your journey.
